  • Dan Lopatin, AKA Oneohtrix Point Never, will collaborate with visual artist Nate Boyce for a special performance at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan on Saturday. Based in Brooklyn and employing a variety of aliases, Lopatin has earned praise in experimental circles over the past few years for his eclectic approaches to drone and ambient music, most notably under the name Oneohtrix Point Never. Last month he released Replica, an album whose processed loops of sound were culled from TV commercials. For Saturday night's event, Lopatin's walls of sound and Boyce's computer imagery will "re-imagine the canon of modernist sculpture through hallucinatory reconstructions of works by David Smith, Jacob Epstein, and Anthony Caro, among other sculptures in MoMA's collection." Named Reliquary House, the duo's collaborative project will be realized specifically for the museum as part of its PopRally event series. Admission also includes drinks and access to museum galleries.
