Stones Throw will release Minimal Wave Tapes Volume 2 at the end of next month.

Minimal Wave is a label run by New York DJ Veronica Vasicka that specializes in obscure synth bands from the '70s and '80s. Vasicka finds these recordings mostly on out of print cassettes, and reissues them through her label, usually as limited edition LPs or 7-inches.

In 2010 she teamed up Peanut Butter Wolf, head of Stones Throw Records, to release Minimal Wave Tapes Volume 1, a widely available CD collection of remastered electronic obscurities. Minimal Wave Tapes Volume 2 follows a similar blueprint, with 14 cuts of extra-dark new wave, synth pop and so on, but with more recent tracks as well, such as Felix Kubin's "Japan Japan" and Geneva Jacuzzi's "The Sleep Room" (recorded in 2004 and 2005 respectively).

Tracklist
01. Hard Corps - Dirty
02. In Trance 95 - Presidente
03. Philippe Laurent - Distorsion
04. Das Ding - H.S.T.A.
05. Subject - What Happened to You?
06. Ohama - The Drum
07. Geneva Jacuzzi - The Sleep Room
08. Antonym - Cinnamon Air
09. Ruins - Fire
10. Ende Shneafliet - Animals From Outer Space
11. Felix Kubin - Japan Japan
12. Class Info - Out of Line
13. In Aeternam Vale - Annie
14. Aural Indifference - Theme

Stones Throw Records will release Minimal Wave Tapes Volume 2 on February 27th, 2012.
