  • Late last week, Paradigm, one of the US's biggest talent agencies, merged with AM Only, a New York based booking agency for electronic artists. In an internal memo about the deal, Paradigm owner Sam Gores said: "This is another significant milestone for Paradigm. Electronic Dance Music is the fastest growing genre in the touring business and already a multi-billion dollar industry worldwide." It's also a significant milestone for electronic music, as it inches further and further into the mainstream of American media. Paradigm, which is considered one of the US's "big five" talent agencies, represents hundreds of artists of all kinds, from mainstream movie actors to hugely popular bands like Coldplay and Aerosmith. AM Only books many of the world's most popular electronic artists (David Guetta, Tiesto, Skrillex), plus a diverse cast of more underground acts, including Cassy, Egyptrixx, Dyed Soundorom, SBTRKT, Marco Carola and many others. As an official press release puts it, these artists "will now have access and representation throughout the entire media and advertising spectrum including music, television, motion pictures, theatre, publishing, branding, commercials and endorsements."
