  • DJ Hell will head to the US next weekend to play parties in San Francisco and New York. Hell (real name Helmut Josef Geier) has been DJing for more than three decades and is the mind behind the widely loved International Deejay Gigolos imprint. Founded in 1996, it now boasts almost three hundred releases from such disparate artists as Jeff Mills, Fischerspooner and P. Diddy. Hell and the label have never slowed down: last year he recruited Wolf + Lamb, Peter Kruder and others to remix tracks from his sprawling 2009 Gigolos double-album Teufelswerk, and he remains a clubbing fixture across Europe for similarly far-reaching sessions behind the decks. The upcoming pair of US gigs will be Hell's first stateside sets in almost two years. He headlines Public Works in San Francisco next Friday, then he'll top a bill with Kate Simko and Richy Ahmed in Brooklyn the following night. Tickets for that one can be found here on RA.
