The collection features 12 tracks that didn't make it onto the duo's 2007 album, Call To Mind.
Commix will release a new collection of old songs this March called Dusted (Selected Works 2003-2008).
The album is made up of tracks that were recorded around the same time as Commix's acclaimed 2007 album, Call To Mind, but didn't make the final cut in the end. "When we wrote Call To Mind we really wanted to make sure every tune on the album worked as part of the whole," the drum & bass duo say in a press release. "Tracks like 'Golden' came close to being on there, but we worked really hard to make sure everything on Call To Mind fitted together perfectly."
Dusted is Call To Mind's second spin-off album, after 2010's Re:Call To Mind, which saw the original LP remixed by the likes of Burial, Kassem Mosse and Underground Resistance. Commix say Dusted is a way of cleaning house before unveiling their next batch of new material. "We get asked so often about all of these and now that we're working on a new album we thought it was time to let these ones go. This is the end of an era for Commix and our next album will be the start of a brand new one for CMX."
