Monolake will showcase a new live show, based on his forthcoming album, in London at the start of March.

As we reported back in September, Henke is preparing to release a new album in February as Monolake, entitled Ghosts. As an extension of the project, The Ghosts In Surround show promises "a multi dimensional, immersive audio and visual experience." This isn't the first time Henke has involved himself with the possibilities of surround sound. Working with visual composer Tarik Barri (who will again be a key part of this current tour) Henke began the Monolake Live Surround Project back in 2009, utilizing multiple channels of audio and Barri's real-time generative video.

"For Ghosts I tried out a lot of new things, new ways to create and transform sounds as I spend a lot of time thinking about structure," he says. "The big challenge now is how I can bring all of this to the stage in a beautiful way."

Joining him on the night will be will be Bristol-based Punch Drunk boss Peverelist and fabric's own Craig Richards.

Tickets for Monolake - The Ghosts In Surround are available to purchase via RA Tickets.

Sun, 04 Mar 2012Something was off this time indeed, or maybe I just don't like the new album (if so, gotta be the first album in Monolake's history I'm not digging). While one of the tracks was a sure killer, the rest turned out somewhat forgettable or even annoying, save for the couple which were bit like how Source Direct could sound today. Generally there was lack of continuity in Robert's set, and I'm not talking pauses here.

Anyway, a home listen is always different, especially since London's clubs... More

Sat, 03 Mar 2012Monolake's performance was average both sonically and visually. The presentation was off the mark for what was on offer and the overall effect felt like standing in a cinema watching an art piece on a flat screen. As much as I appreciated the engineering that went into the sounds panning a hi hat through the surrounds doesn't qualify as pushing the envelope. At the end of the day a decent night out if somewhat disappointing.

Fri, 02 Mar 2012i for one thought that monolake was absolutely immense. the man is an absolute genius and is producing some of the most forward thinking music around.

i personally thought the system sounded amazing. all music should be listened to in 5.1 surround sound!

Fri, 02 Mar 2012I thought the sound was decent from the dancefloor, some proper body shaking bass frequencies! Found Monolake's set technically impressive but for the most part the music didn't do that much for me. I've not listened to much of his stuff before, felt a bit like the production trickery eclipsed the music - the Raster Noton crew do that sort of sound much better in my opinion.

Enjoyed the night a lot though, Craig Richards was playing some great deep breaks and house that you don't often hear... More

Fri, 02 Mar 2012the soundsystem supposed to be specially tuned.. my arse
yeah it was surround etc. but never in all my clubbing years have my ears hurt after 5 minutes in room 1
the guy is a pro and yet doesn't know how to treat the system

now to the music. some tracks were very good (first few and the last two) others nothing special, but overall lacking something
the visuals were pretty nice. and the surround subtle as it ought to be.

i may not be objective as i wasn't standing in the middle of the... More

Thu, 01 Mar 2012Looking forward to this. Never got round to properly listening to Monolake's work but interviews with him are always fascinating. I have a feeling it'll be pretty special
