Anton Zap, Kai Alce, Lady Blacktronika and Mayanja herself all turn up on the remix compilation.
Jenifa Mayanja has put together a remixed version of her latest album, Woman Walking In the Shadows.
Mayanja is a house DJ and producer based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she raises a family with her husband, Jus-Ed, the man behind Underground Quality. Woman Walking In the Shadows was her second full-length yet, and came out last April on Bu-Mako Recordings, the label she's used as a platform for her own releases since 2007. She tapped a handful of like-minded artists for her remix compilation, such as Anton Zap, a regular on Underground Quality, Atlanta's Kai Alce and past collaborator Lady Blaktronika. Mayanja revamps a few of her own tracks as well. The collection will be available exclusively on vinyl.
