  • The Glimmers will visit Australia next weekend for the first time since 2009. Mo Becha and David Fouquaert are the Belgian duo behind the label Eskimo Recordings, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year. Output over the past decade has included records by Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, Allez Allez and Ray Mang as well as mixes compiled by Ivan Smagghe, Rub 'N' Tug and Optimo. The duo themselves are known for their trademark blend of indie, disco and house, as well as their eclectic approach to DJing, which was demonstrated in their contributions to the DJ Kicks and Fabriclive mix series. As a production outfit The Glimmers have had a relatively quiet year, with their most recent release being their third LP, Whomp That Sucker, back in 2010. The Glimmers' Australian visit will begin with a show in Melbourne on February 17th at the newly opened club The Liberty Social, presented by Bamboo Musik. The following evening, Sydney promoters Picnic will host the duo down at The Civic Underground with locals Marcus King and Long John Saliva in support. Perth's show on Sunday the 19th will be held right on the shore at Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre and will also feature disco veteran Greg Wilson and UK R&B act Soul II Soul. Tickets to the Sydney show are available here on RA.
