Ninja Tune have outlined details for an Amon Tobin box set due out in May.

Packaged in a "bolt-fastened mechanical 'press,'" the release includes seven CDs, six 10-inches and a DVD. Most of the material is previously unreleased or has never been available in a physical format before. This includes selections from the Brazilian producer's scores for TV, film and video games, some of which were never used, as well as selections from his "Monthly Joints"— songs he released monthly on www.amontobin.com between 2007 and 2010. There are also remixes he did for other artists (Ryuichi Sakamoto, Eskmo) and remixes other artists did for him (Shed, Photek, Jimmy Edgar, Emika, Bibio and many more).

Amon Tobin's celebrated audio-visual live act, ISAM, is thoroughly documented on both CD and DVD (the latter also features more than a dozen music videos). Also included is a recording of The London Metropolitan Orchestra performing versions of Amon Tobin's songs at Royal Albert Hall.

Amon Tobin has also confirmed nearly 30 live dates between now and October, beginning with Coachella Festival in California and eventually hitting cities across Europe and North America.

Thu, 08 Mar 2012Thanks for the info!!! The price is actually not that bad. I was hoping for 500 pounds or something, like that limited edition of Bjork's latest album... I just hope the retail price doesn't go up too much... I'll try to find this in Berlin... this type of stuff are usually cheaper over there... plus, there's always a possibility of ran into monolake or something.. hahaha

90£ early bird/pre-order price (cf. ninjatune.net/release/amon-tobin/amon-t... Guess that means regular retail is going to be more than that...

... so tempting.

Tue, 06 Mar 2012Gorgeous collection. I just loved the packing! And the content is also nice.. lots of good stuff in here.. I wonder how much it will cost, since it is a limited edition... It's funny to think Amon's work is not known in Brazil at all... his family left here when he was 2... I wonder if he's able to speak portuguese, anyway, it's great to see a Brazilian (at heart) reaching the level he's at.
