Hotflush will release the electro-pop producer's next album in May.
Jimmy Edgar is ready to release his third album, Majenta.
Following records on !K7 and Warp, the upcoming LP will be Edgar's debut on Hotflush Recordings. Considering his flamboyant and electro-tinged sound, it will mark another left turn for Scuba's label, which has been branching out more and more from its dubstep roots. Edgar says the record is "more futuristic... than my other music, which played a lot with retro, especially R&B." That said, a bit of his trademark raunchiness still makes it onto the record, as track titles like "Take Me on a Sex Drive" make clear. According to an interview with XLR8R, Majenta was finished in just a few weeks (XXX took him five years). The artwork is a painting by Edgar himself.
