- Posthuman, the experimental metal artist's first electronic album, comes out this month.
Justin Broadrick will release his first album as JK Flesh this month, entitled Posthuman.
The record will come out on 3BY3, a UK label specializing in what it calls "confrontational electronic music," which just about sums up the sound of JK Flesh. As you may have learned in RA's most recent Playing Favourites, Broadrick has a rich history in heavy metal, dating back to the late '80s when he briefly played with Napalm Death before forming his own group, Godflesh. That said, his electronic credentials are none too shabby either: he appeared opposite Porter Ricks on the '99 split album Symbiotics as Techno Animal, his duo with Kevin Martin (AKA The Bug), and more recently has appeared on Ghostly International as Pale Sketcher.
Posthuman brings together both sides of Broadrick's sound, pairing electronic rhythms and atmospheres with brutal guitars and roared vocals. You can stream the album's second track, "Idle Hands," in full on 3BY3's SoundCloud page.
