Taking place at Portmeirion in Wales, the event also features Francois K, Erol Alkan, Andrew Weatherall and Optimo.
Details have been announced for the first edition of Festival No. 6, taking place in Wales this September.
Festival No. 6 is curated by the same people behind Snowbombing and The Warehouse Project. In the words of the press release, the event is "sculpted for those who enjoy life's finer things," such as street theatre, poetry readings, cultural debates, clay pigeon shooting and archery, all of which will be available to the aesthetes in attendance (there will be zorbing too). The venue is Portmeirion, a tourist village designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in the style of a quaint Mediterranean town. Dining options include champagne and oyster bars and various locally sourced and organic meals. Lodging options include "the stately gatehouse, tower bedrooms" and "tribal yurts."
As for the music, New Order, Spiritualized and Primal Scream top the bill, joined by a slew of club DJs: Francois K, Optimo, Luke Solomon, Erol Alkan, and Horse Meat Disco to name a few. Derrick Carter will play a disco set, and Andrew Weatherall will DJ with his usual partner-in-crime, Sean Johnston. More artists will be announced in the weeks ahead.
