Nina Kraviz, Art Department, Machinedrum and Claude VonStroke are just some of the artists that will play alongside the River St. Laurent this summer.
Montreal's annual Piknic Electronic celebrates ten years in 2012 with a series of parties from May until September.
The summer-long series will kick off in Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau on the weekend of May 20th with two parties featuring Art Department and Dubfire, and will continue every Sunday throughout the summer. Other confirmed artists include Nina Kraviz, Margaret Dygas, Eats Everything, Claude VonStroke and Machinedrum among many others. The regular Sunday afternoon parties will be split across two stages, with a dedicated culinary zone in between featuring booths from local restaurants. Special showcases include the Dirtybird BBQ on September 3rd, Bad Pony Recordings on August 26th, and a MUTEK-helmed event on June 3rd featuring Wolf + Lamb and Mathew Jonson.
Outside of its usual festivities in Parc Jean-Drapeau, this year's Piknic Electronik will feature a number of international events as well. In July, the party will touch down in Barcelona, and there will be three stops in Quebec City over the summer, plus two in Gatineau and Vancouver in June.
