Field Day 2012 adds Grimes, Blawan, Zomby

- London's Field Day festival has announced a new wave of performers for its 2012 lineup. Already featuring names like Maya Jane Coles, Julio Bashmore, Hudson Mohawke and SBTRKT, since its original announcement in December 2011, the London festival has added a host of new performers. Those include a bevy of electronic and dance-friendly acts, such as Montreal-based performer Grimes, London R&S signee Blawan, Germany's Modeselektor, London's ever-unpredictable Zomby and English singer Jessie Ware. On the more experimental end of the electronic music spectrum are Hyperdub's Laurel Halo, Austrian sound artist Fennesz, German house/techno producer Kassem Mosse and Fuck Buttons ambient side project Blanck Mass. In keeping with the theme of the initial announcement, the beefed-up lineup also includes plenty of indie rock names, like American bands Liars, Tortoise and Sleigh Bells. The festival will take place on June 6th in East London's Victoria Park.
