The Berlin house aficionado broke the news last night via Facebook.
Prosumer announced last night that his long-running residency at Panorama Bar will come to an end after this weekend.
The Berlin-based DJ broke the news on his Facebook page last night with this simple message: "All good things come to an end, they say. So does my residency at panorama bar. Please join me for my last set there this coming sunday." No further info or explanation has been provided so far.
In many ways Prosumer, real name Achim Brandenburg, is the quintessential Panorama Bar DJ, from his unique command of classic house records to his warm and modest presence behind the decks. He and the Berlin club always seemed to have a mutually beneficial relationship: his style as an artist helped shape what many consider Panorama Bar's signature sound, and his residency there is a big part of his personal brand as a DJ. He's often made it clear how important the club is to him. In 2006, he told XLR8R: "It's the most intense place I have ever played... Sometimes, I am so moved spinning there that I get tears in my eyes."
The fact that his residency is ending does not necessarily mean Prosumer won't play Panorama Bar again, though details on his future relationship with the club are completely unknown at this point. His final party as a resident is a big one: CSD Klubnacht (celebrating Christopher Street Day, the European equivalent of Gay Pride Day). In addition to performances from DJ Harvey, Tensnake, Objekt and Aril Brikha, the bill has Prosumer playing in Panorama Bar with fellow residents Tama Sumo, Fiedel, Steffi and nd_baumecker at night, then again on Sunday afternoon in the garden.
