Mala has recorded an album for Gilles Peterson's ongoing Havana Cultura project, entitled Mala in Cuba .Gilles Peterson Presents Havana Cultura: New Cuba Sound and a sequel called The Search Continues... . Given the heavy influence of Jamaican music on UK bass, a dubstep innovator like Mala seems a natural choice for the series. The Search Continues... , Mala set up shop in a studio across the hall and got started on Mala In Cuba . A steady stream of local talent passed through while he worked, lending the album an added dimension of vocals and live instrumentation. Mala in Cuba is due out in September, and will be preceded by a 12-inch featuring the songs "Cuba Electronic" and "Calle F."
