- Complete with a mix by Jacques Renault, the second edition of Harmless's Mixology series focuses on the '70s New York disco label.
Harmless are ready to release their second Mixology compilation, this time focussing on the New York disco label Sam Records.
The Mixology series aims to highlight various classic labels throughout the history of club music. The first one came out last year, and paid homage to the New York disco label Salsoul Records. This time they're turning the lens on another New York label: Sam Records, the '70s imprint run by Sam Weiss (and later his son Michael Weiss, who also headed the seminal '90s house label Nervous Records). Mixology: Sam Records Extended Play collects all new edits and remixes of original Sam Records cuts by artists like Todd Terje, Catz n' Dogz and Soul Clap. Part of the collection is unmixed, the other is woven together by New York house and disco artist Jacques Renault. The two-disc package will be released in August.
