  • Fridays at The Spice Cellar in Sydney will be headlined this August by acts like Frames, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Simon Caldwell and more. The weekly night, which started up in March of this year, has kept a consistent focus on local acts in the slow-mo house and nu-disco community. Among the headlining artists so far have been some of Melbourne's most popular exports, such as Tornado Wallace, Weekend Express and Andee Frost, as well as a number of regulars on the Sydney circuit including Toni Toni Lee and Softwar. The first Friday of August begins with Mars Monero, the recent collaboration of Goodfella and Foundation, both longterm players in the Sydney scene. Following that, local producer Frames will be celebrating the launch of his first single on Blotter, a label whose output has been popular among the likes of Jamie Jones and Damian Lazarus. Wolf Music's Francis Inferno Orchestra will head up from Melbourne to be featured on the 17th, with Jimmy2sox (one half of successful production duo Flight Facilities) taking the reins on August 24th. The last Friday of the month will be reserved for Simon Caldwell, one of the city's most revered and respected jocks for the past two decades.
