Dixon, Richie Hawtin, Maya Jane Coles, Steve Bug and Henrik Schwarz are among those confirmed for the Berlin club's string of birthday events.
Watergate will mark its 10th anniversary with a series of five parties in August.
It's hard to imagine that when Watergate opened its doors in 2002, its corner of Kreuzberg along the Spree was considered a dead part of town (Mitte was all the rage back then). In the decade since then, the two-story club has became a significant Berlin tourist attraction and a staple of the city's nightlife, thanks to its house and techno-centric booking policy and slick interior (complete with the much-imitated LED lighting strip over the upstairs dance floor), not to mention its summer open-airs and its role in the BerMuDa conference.
The ten-year anniversary parties will bring together many of the artists that have become Watergate regulars over the years, plus a number of fresh faces. It all kicks off with a free event: on August 18th, Henrik Schwarz will debut his live act with his band outside on the terrace. A few days later, the club will host its biggest Wednesday night lineup in recent memory, with dOP, Pan-Pot, Tiefschwarz, M.A.N.D.Y., Ruede Hagelstein, Tobi Neumann, Mathias Kaden and more. Dixon takes the reigns upstairs all night that Friday, while Maya Jane Coles, Heidi, Marco Resmann and Lee Jones share the bill on the water floor.
Richie Hawtin headlines a Minus-heavy lineup the following night, with Heartthrob, Ambivalent, Matador and Hobo, plus The Martinez Brothers and Hector. It all finishes up with an afterhour party starting at 10:00 AM that Sunday. The bill for that one is under wraps.
In addition to the parties, Watergate will celebrate their tenth anniversary with a limited edition box set featuring a book of pictures, a DVD, a poster and a triple-vinyl pack with songs from Benoit & Sergio, Catz 'n' Dogz, Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts and many more. Specific details are still forthcoming.
