  • Shigeto will headline Boston's Jass party on August 28th. Jass is a Boston club night and label that supports a host of local artists and books a variety of experimental and genre-hopping acts like Distal, Wheez-ie and Oneohtrix Point Never at their parties. They'll celebrate their first year in business with two parties in late August. The first, on August 28th at the Phoenix Lounge, has a very prominent live component, featuring Ann Arbor artist and Ghostly associate Shigeto playing live with an ensemble—which has him playing drums—along with local artist and Jass signee Time Wharp. Also billed are Mad Decent's Djembe Djembe, local duo Gonja (who will be making their live set debut at the show), and residents Jassy Jeff and Fens. Two days later on August 30th, Jass will hold a second part to their birthday shindig with a free-entry party at Boston's Descent. This one will see Providence-based artist The Range headline, fresh off the release of an EP on UK label Donky Pitch. Support will come in the form of a number of back-to-back sets. First up is LA artists Gossamer and Moiety going head-to-head, while Time Wharp will play with Gonja member T-Dredz, and Fens will face off against fellow local Taye Digg$. Both anniversary parties promise "special guests" in addition to the announced lineups.
