- The Belgian producer will soon release a retrospective collection of music composed for an Antwerp theatre troupe.
Belgian composer Pepijn Caudron—AKA Kreng—will release his third full-length, Works for Abattoir Fermé: 2007 - 2011, in October.
Alongside his solo work for the Norwegian Miasmah label (who'll also be releasing the new collection), Caudron has spent the past few years supplying music for Abbattoir Fermé, an avant-garde theatre troupe based in Mechelen, near Antwerp. As its title suggests, the forthcoming album is a collection of work composed for the collective by Caudron over a four-year period. Abbattoir Fermé is renowned for its provocative, dark and intense narratives, many of which revolve around social outcasts operating within society's underbelly. As a result, Caudron's confronting and droning ambient aesthetic is a well-suited companion. The four-LP boxset features night works written specifically for Abbattoir Fermé, as well as a 10-inch of music made for the TV show Monster.
