  • Silent Servant will release his debut album in September, entitled Negative Fascination. Real name Juan Mendez, Silent Servant was a cornerstone of the Sandwell District collective, which disbanded (to some extent) at the beginning of 2012. Much like core Sandwell District artists Regis and Function, his sound has always been a bleak and atmospheric strain of techno, sometimes with a post-punk twist—something that was especially pronounced in Tropic of Cancer, a darkwave group he formed with his wife, Camella Lobo, and has since left. According to a press release, Negative Fascination shows all of these elements in full force. The album will come out on Hospital Productions, the label run by noise artist-cum techno producer Dominick Fernow (AKA Prurient or Vatican Shadow). "Executive production" is credited to Karl O'Conner, AKA Regis. The release is limited to 1,000 vinyl copies, and will be accompanied by a limited edition 12-inch containing extended versions of three of the album's tracks. Tracklist A1 Process (Introduction) A2 Invocation Of Lust A3 Moral Divide (Endless) A4 The Strange Attractor B1 Temptation & Desire B2 A Path Eternal B3 Utopian Disaster (End) Hospital Productions will release Negative Fascination on September 10th, 2012.
