- Canada's Jesse Somfay will release his next album on Origami Sound next month.
Canadian producer Jesse Somfay's will release his next album, Voidness, under the name Borealis.
Somfay has dropped a total of four albums to date, all of which have been released under his given name. Since he made his production debut in the mid-'00s, the producer has been experimenting with densely layered ambient and techno music, much of which recalls the likes of James Holden and the output of his Border Community imprint. Voidness sees Somfay explore darker sounds than most of his previous work, taking in ambient, techno and breakbeat over a total of 19 tracks. The album, due out next month, will be his first solo release on Origami Sound.
