Andy Stott, Biosphere, Nguzunguzu and Holy Other are also booked for the tenth edition of the Chicago festival.
The tenth annual Adventures in Modern Music Festival will take place in Chicago beginning on Wednesday, October 3rd.
Co-produced by The Wire magazine and Windy City venue Empty Bottle (where all events will be held), the festival is billed as a "five-day celebration of outsider sounds." The lineup certainly lives up to that theme: LA bass duo Nguzunguzu head up the first night's show, which will also feature Nashville's prolific lo-fi rocker R. Stevie Moore. Demdike Stare and Andy Stott, both from Manchester's Modern Love imprint, will play live on Thursday the 4th. Out-of-town acts scheduled for later in the week include Norwegian ambient legend Biosphere, French composer Sylvain Chauveau, and a couple more UK artists, Micachu (performing with her band, The Shapes) and Holy Other. Chicago will be represented by Supreme Cuts and Traxman, among others.
