Modern Love heads stateside

- Demdike Stare and Andy Stott have a string of live shows confirmed across the US.
- Modern Love artists Demdike Stare and Andy Stott will play live across the United States in late September and early October. The Manchester label has long championed the hazy, experimental sides of techno. Both Demdike Stare and Stott are label fixtures: the former duo have crafted five LPs for Modern Love since 2009, and with a new album set for release at the end of October, Stott continues his long run of producing exclusively for the imprint. Between them, the two acts will share ten appearances across the US. Demdike Stare, who begin their side of the tour at All Tomorrow's Parties in New York, have a pair of gigs in Mexico City (for Mutek.MX) confirmed as well. Select events will see the duo re-scoring the classic erotic-horror film La Vampire Nue. West Coast fans can see both acts at Decibel in Seattle, in San Francisco at Public Works with witch house artists Balam Acab and oOoOO, and in LA, where they're billed with fellow techno experimentalists Silent Servant, Kangding Ray and Vatican Shadow. In early October, both Demdike Stare and Stott are confirmed for Pittsburgh's VIA Festival, Chicago's Adventures in Modern Music Festival and the Bunker in Brooklyn, where they'll have eight hours to themselves in the front room (Peter Van Hoesen will be playing the back). Demdike Stare's gigs in Mexico City will be the duo's last on the continent for now. In the meantime, Stott will headline a party in Philadelphia, and later in the month he'll play at Moogfest in Asheville.
