The San Francisco monthly clubnight will celebrate its third birthday in November.
Model 500 will headline No Way Back's third anniversary party on November 16th.
Founded in 2009 by residents Conor and Solar and titled after the record by Adonis, No Way Back has become one of San Francisco's most respected house and techno nights. The event's programming is wide-ranging, booking experimental-leaning performers like Dopplereffekt alongside names such as Legowelt, Joakim and Metro Area. They've also branched out recently into the Los Angeles market, throwing a few warehouse parties as extensions of their Bay Area nights. The residents are respected DJs in their own right, with Justin Martin choosing Solar as his favourite DJ in a recent feature on RA.
The birthday shindig will take place at Mezzanine, headlined by Detroit techno godfather and Metroplex founder Juan Atkins' Model 500 project, famous for early genre classics like "No UFO's" and "The Chase." In its current live band incarnation, Model 500 consists of Atkins, Underground Resistance's Mike Banks, Mark Taylor and Milton Baldwin. Josh Cheon, resident for fellow SF party Honey Soundsystem will also play, along with the usual appearances from Conor and Solar.
