  • Pantha Du Prince will embark on a tour of the US and Canada through October and November. Hendrik Weber's work as Pantha Du Prince is characterized by its heavy use of chimes and gentle techno pulse, finding a suitable home on Hamburg's deep house imprint Dial Records. In 2010 he signed to the indie-friendly UK juggernaut Rough Trade, which released his acclaimed third album Black Noise. This latest US jaunt comes in the wake of his new collaborative Krautrock-leaning project Ursprung with Stephen Abry, which RA's Derek Miller called a "contemplative, soft-night soundtrack," and will see him performing a live set presumably based around his work under the Pantha moniker. The 11-date tour begins in Canada on October 23rd, with stops in Montreal and Toronto, before beginning its US leg in Washington DC. Weber will make a headlining appearance at Asheville, North Carolina's Moogfest on the 26th, then head to NYC, Miami, San Francisco, LA and Chicago. He'll return to Canada for a date in Vancouver on November 3rd, and his journey will wrap up the following evening in Seattle. The tour marks the first North American Pantha Du Prince shows since spring 2011.
