Squarepusher brings Mount Kimbie to North America

- The Warp artists will tour the US and Canada together this autumn.
- Squarepusher will embark on a tour of North America with Mount Kimbie this October and November. One of the most prominent stars of the IDM heyday, UK artist Tom Jenkinson has been active since the mid-90s with numerous lauded releases on Rephlex and Warp. His work in the past has covered ground from "drill & bass" style breakcore to live jazz. Earlier this year he released his latest album Ufabulum, which saw a return to purely programmed electronics. Though Jenkinson made a few US appearances in the wake of that LP's release, he'll make a return to the continent in October, this time with his Warp labelmates Mount Kimbie in tow. Mount Kimbie caused quite a stir when they first appeared on Hotflush Recordings with two EPs in 2009. Those records revealed a downbeat take on bass music fleshed out with live instrumentation, a dynamic further explored on their debut album Crooks & Lovers. They've since moved from Hotflush to Warp Records and are currently working on their second LP. Mount Kimbie will perform their full band live act—an outfit that once included James Blake—while Jenkinson will play a live set based on Ufabulum. The joint tour begins with Squarepusher's appearance at Moogfest on October 26th in Asheville, North Carolina. Mount Kimbie will join him for the rest of the dates. Those include stops in Philadelphia, Silver Spring, Boston and NYC before a single Canadian date in Toronto on November 2nd. Their partnership will come to an end in Chicago the following evening, at which point Mount Kimbie will carry on solo up the West Coast for three more dates in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
