The new imprint will be a vehicle for "experimental techno stuff, noise, drone or industrial pieces."
UK techno artists Shifted and Ventress will launch a new label later this month called Mira.
Shifted is the techno alias of a well-known producer whose true identity is under wraps. He first emerged in 2011 with a string of atmospheric techno productions and his own label, Avian. Ventress is an equally mysterious techno artist who made his debut on Avian last year. Mira shows the two artists teaming up to focus on "stuff that doesn't fit with the general aesthetic of Avian, be that experimental techno stuff, noise, drone or industrial pieces," in the words of Shifted himself. All of Mira's artwork will be handled by Juan Mendez (AKA Silent Servant), and cut to vinyl from analogue 1/4-inch tape. The first two releases will be ten-inch vinyl EPs from yet another shadowy techno project, Bleaching Agent.
