Liquid Light Forms is due out next month on Barge Recordings.
Brooklyn experimental artist and Mountains member Koen Holtkamp will release a new album on Barge Recordings next month called Liquid Light Forms.
As one half of Mountains and as a solo artist, lengthy electro-acoustic pieces are what Holtkamp is best known for. He maintains that approach with Liquid Light Forms while continuing to move towards more electronic-based production. Nearly forty minutes of music is split among three tracks, and according to the press release, the focus is "almost entirely on electronic pieces utilizing predominantly voltage controlled modular synthesizers and sequencers." (If you're not sure what all that means, try a free stream of "Battenkill," the longest track of the three, at the label's SoundCloud page.) The LP will be available on vinyl and mp3.
