  • Paul Kalkbrenner will be returning to Melbourne and Sydney to play two shows in December. The Berlin tech house artist's popularity has grown exponentially since his 2001 debut album, Superimpose, to the point where he has become one of Germany's most famous electronic exports. With five studio albums to his name, including the soundtrack to 2008's Berlin Calling, a film in which Kalkbrenner also starred, he has consistently been a dominant force both as a producer and live performer. LP number six, Guten Tag, is due later this month on his own Paul Kalkbrenner Musik imprint. Now returning to the country after nearly two years, Kalkbrenner will be performing his acclaimed live show twice next month, with techno artist Simina Grigoriu appearing as the main support act for both parties. Melbourne's Billboard The Venue will host the first gig on December 14th, with Kris Baha, Aram Chapers and Isaac Fryar all featuring on the local lineup, while the Sydney event on December 15th will take place at The Hi-Fi (formerly The Forum) in Moore Park with Club Junque and GABBY also on the bill. Both nights kick off at 9:00 PM.
