John Gosling's next album is due out in February on Wall of Sound.
Mekon, AKA John Gosling, will release his next album Piece Of Work in February.
Gosling has worked with a wide range of artists over the past 25 years, from Afrika Bambaataa to William Orbit. That collaborative approach continues with Piece Of Work, his fourth full-length under the Mekon moniker, which features contributions from artists like Schoolly D, Pig and Cleo Torrez. (There's also an homage to the late Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, who appeared on the 2000 LP Relax With Mekon.) As you might expect, Piece Of Work defies easy classification, with "electro rap," "punk funk" and "grinding industrial techno" among the many descriptors mentioned in the press release. Like the last three Mekon albums, it will come out via London institution Wall of Sound.
