  • Mike Parker will release his second album, Lustrations, on June 3rd. Parker's only previous full-length, Dispatches, came out back in 2001. In the time since that release he's carved a reputation as a producer of obsessively crafted, pulsating techno. His distinctive sound has featured on labels like Mote-Evolver, Avian and Semantica, although the majority of his output has come through his own Geophone imprint. The Buffalo-based artist juggles his music commitments with a role teaching fine art at a US university, and his Geophone records are routinely accompanied by striking sleeve design. Lustrations will see release through Prologue, the German label that put out two 12-inches from Parker in 2011. A press release describes the album as "all about techno performed as a kind of ritual," and says the musical focus is on clarity (of "sound structures, bass lines, drums and arrangements.") The album will be released as a triple-vinyl package in June, with the digital version following roughly a month later. Tracklist 01. Lustration One (Khonsu) 02. Lustration Two (Nor'easter) 03.
