- The French artist will launch a new vinyl-only imprint next month.
French artist Joakim today announced details of his new label venture, Crowdspacer.
The vinyl-only imprint will launch with a 12-inch EP called No Time To Waste from Everyone, a collaborative project involving Joakim, underground pop star Kindness and V. L'Traques, an alias for a well-known London-based producer. The EP will be a joint release on Crowdspacer and Kindness's Female Energy label.
Joakim (full name Joakim Bouaziz) says the label will be about "dance, sweaty clubs, techno primitivism, trans-gender house, tropicalist trance, mutant disco, fun avant-garde, timeless futurism, the body & soul," and will presumably allow him to expand upon his work as label boss of Tigersushi, which he launched back in 2002. As Juno Plus previously noted, the label's name comes from the CRWDSPCR dance performance choreographed by revered US avant-gardist Merce Cunningham in 1993.
