Claremont 56 will release the penultimate instalment of its Originals series next month.
Japanese selector Yozo has been picked to curate the ninth Originals compilation on Claremont 56.
As founder of the respected EAD Records emporium in Tokyo, Yozo has built a reputation as a respected purveyor of disco and house-an essential pre-requisite for the Originals CDs. As with all previous compilations in the series, the tracklist will be kept under wraps until the very last moment, with a brief press blurb for the CD simply stating that it contains "12 rare records."
Previous Originals compilations have been overseen by the likes of Mark Seven, Sean P, Felix Dickinson and Phil Mison. The most recent instalment was helmed by Swiss DJ and producer Lexx, with RA's Stephen Titmus describing it as a "thrillingly unlikely" collection of tracks. The 10th and final edition of the series will be selected by Alex From Tokyo, after which Claremont 56 boss Paul "Mudd" Murphy will release a vinyl boxset featuring choice tracks from all 10 editions.
Claremont 56 will release Originals Vol. 9 by Yozo in February 2013.
