The East London club has had its licence revoked following a police raid in December.
East London music venue 93 Feet East has lost its licence following a police raid last month.
The raid, which took place as part of Operation Condor on December 7th, saw 175 police officers converge on the Brick Lane venue, including a helicopter and dog units. As the London Evening Standardreport, on January 7th the Tower Hamlets council revoked the club's alcohol and entertainment licence. Located on Brick Lane in London's East End, 93 Feet East served as a bar, music venue and club space.
The December raid was caught on police surveillance cameras—you can see the YouTube footage below. It was part of a city-wide crackdown on clubs and other licensed venues that saw 4,000 officers raid 5,830 premises across London in one weekend. Nine people were arrested at 93 Feet East, including two on suspicion of drug dealing and five for possession of drugs.
The Standard article carries a quote from deputy mayor of Tower Hamlets, Ohid Ahmed, who said: "The decision on 93 Feet East’s licence demonstrates that we are prepared to take swift and decisive action if bars are found to be allowing drug dealing and drug misuse."
93 Feet East management could not be contacted for comment.
