  • Franklin De Costa will release an album as Archaetech in March. While De Costa is probably best known for the club-ready house and techno he's made over the years (having appeared on labels like Trapez, Curle and Mule Musiq), Archaetech might be the German producer's gloomiest, most experimental work yet. The album, initially recorded in the early 2000s, sees him dive headlong into murky, echo-laden soundscapes—or "a haze of perpetual smog," as a press release puts it. Four of Archaetech's tracks measure more than nine minutes in length, beginning with the nearly 14 minute-long opener "Eins." There's no colorful track titles like "Bliss" or "Bogart Space Funk" on this one, as each of the six main pieces are named in German according to their numerical order. Due out on CD and in digital formats, Archaetech will be the first release on Greta Cottage Woodpile, a new offshoot of the UK imprint Greta Cottage Workshop. Tracklist 01. Eins 02. Zwei 03. Drei 04. Vier 05. Fünf 06. Sechs 07. Outro Greta Cottage Woodpile will release Archaetech on March 11th, 2013.
