Matthew Herbert, Andy Stott and Robert Hood will play at the Montreal festival this year.
The first wave of acts for MUTEK 2013 have been announced.
The 14th edition of the Montreal festival will take place from May 29th through June 2nd. Outspoken artist Matthew Herbert will return to the festival for the first time in eight years with three separate performances, one of which will be an improvised set using a 10-second recording from a war journalist in Libya. He'll be joined on the bill by Robert Hood, John Talabot, Jamie Lidell, Âme, Andy Stott, Martyn, Juju & Jordash and Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurokawa. MUTEK will also hold a Kompakt showcase, with Michael Mayer's label celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013. More names will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.
