RBMA brings Brian Eno to New York

  • The Red Bull Music Academy has announced details of its 2013 schedule in New York. The 15th edition of the academy will begin on April 28th and run for five weeks. Organisers have called on a star-studded contingent of artists, with Brian Eno set to be joined by Erykah Badu, James Murphy, Nile Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder. Eno will bring his 77 Million Paintings audio-visual installation to the Big Apple, and will also give a talk in which he "outlines the creative processes that have driven his work." RBMA have promised "34 unique shows celebrating music across genres and generations," with daily workshops and lectures featuring the latest batch of academy entrants working alongside established names. In total, around 230 performers will appear, with Afrika Bambaataa, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tony Visconti, Masters At Work, Pantha Du Prince, A-Trak, Four Tet and Skream among the other artists involved. Full lineup details for all events will be announced on March 4th.
