The San Francisco producer will release a self-titled LP later this month.
Kastle will release his first album on April 23rd.
Barrett Richards has had a few different aliases over the years, including the happy hardcore stylings of DJ Sunrize and the break-heavy electro house of B. Rich. Kastle is his latest, and offers a more bass music-influenced sound with a focus on vocals and R&B-style melodies. Since he started going by the name in 2010 he's accomplished quite a lot: in addition to releasing several EPs on Philadelphia label Seclusiasis, he also started his own imprint, Symbols, last year.
Kastle will be Richards' first full-length. In line with his recent work, the LP is heavy on vocals, from both actual singers and samples. Guests on the album include Austin Paul, Ayah Marar, Armanni Reign, JMSN, Reva DeVito and Philly grime producer Starkey.
Following an album release party in LA on April 17th, Richards will embark on a tour of North America with his new live set. The tour will begin on May 2nd and last through to the end of the month. The journey will take him to Miami, NYC, Mexico City, Chicago and LA, with some stops in smaller cities such as New Haven, Edmonton, and Victoria and Nelson in BC.
