A new quarterly series will kick off with a Latency Recordings showcase next Thursday at TBA Brooklyn.
New Jersey DJ Joey Anderson will headline the first Artifact party in Brooklyn next Thursday.
Artifact is a joint venture between Taimur, one of the minds behind Blkmarket Membership, and Jordan, a relative newcomer to the NYC scene who has appeared (as JD) on Fred P's Soul People Music. The series will operate on a quarterly basis, with each night bringing together a music and visual arts program—or as the organizers put it, "merging immersive music and immersive space so tightly that they're no longer separate."
Next Thursday's launch party at TBA Brooklyn will also serve as a showcase of the French house imprint Latency Recordings. Along with Anderson, who recently produced Latency's second record, label owners Suleiman and Sidney will be on hand, and Taimur and Jordan will each DJ as well. Handling the night's visual program is Sophie Hirsch, an Austrian-born, Brooklyn-based artist who'll be showing a large-scale, site-specific light piece. Though Artifact 001 will take place at TBA Brooklyn, details regarding venues and dates for future events are—pardon the pun—still TBA.
