- The duo of Throwing Snow and Augustus Ghost will release their first LP through Houndstooth in July.
Snow Ghosts will drop their debut album, A Small Murmuration, on June 17th.
The collaborative project between Ross Tones, AKA Throwing Snow, and Augustus Ghost debuted two years ago on Black Acre with the Lost At Sea EP, which paired the latter's vocals with Tones' knack for dramatic bass music production. In addition to working as a vocalist for the band Masakichi, Ghost has appeared as a guest singer for Phaeleh. Tones, meanwhile, has released a number of EPs in the past few years for imprints like Local Action and Sneaker Social Club.
The first Snow Ghosts full-length will come through fabric's label Houndstooth. The duo were reportedly inspired by "the shadowy elements of folk and metal" on A Small Murmuration, named for both Cartwright's love of nature and Tones' interest in chaos theory. The album incorporates field recordings, including "hanging a mic out the window to record a thunder storm... [and] recording leaves rustling in a Tower Hamlets graveyard." All ten tracks on the LP are previously unreleased.
