  • Propellerhead has released an iPad version of Thor, their Reason DAW's flagship synth. The desktop version of Thor has long emphasized versatility, with six oscillator settings, four filters and modifiable routing allowing it to mimic a number of different synth styles. Thor for iPad maintains all of that and even allows you to export patches to your desktop setup. But it's also been adapted to take advantage of the device's touchscreen. It features an on-screen keyboard with standard-size keys that can be collapsed to include only in-key notes. You can also hold a chord and play it by "strumming" the keys. As would be expected, all of the synth's knobs and faders are controllable by touch. The video below shows off some of Thor for iPad's functionality.
Propellerhead Thor is now available through the App Store for $14.99.
