  • Pioneer has introduced GS-WAVE and XY, their first professional club soundsystem lines. Though each line serves somewhat different purposes, they can work together within the context of a single system. The GS-WAVE line, designed in collaboration with Gary Stewart Audio (whose namesake masterminded the highly regarded rig at Singapore's Club Zouk and even had a hand in the Paradise Garage's legendary system), are built to push sound in big rooms. The floor stacks boast subsonic bass, dedicated low- to midrange drivers and 110-degree dispersion of the highs. The smaller XY line is geared more toward the DJ booth and smaller club or lounge systems. Powersoft K-Series DSP amps will drive the systems. Pioneer says they'll be "installing the flagship sound system in a number of world-famous clubs in Ibiza and beyond, including a complete club re-fit, which we'll be announcing in the coming weeks."
