  • Native Instruments is rolling out a new version of its Kontrol X1 controller. The Kontrol X1 has proven popular as a control device for NI's Traktor Pro digital DJing system, expanding the software's functionality whether you're using decks or working entirely in the box. This "MK2" update boasts the same basic physique of the last version, but it has a few new tricks up its sleeve. Probably the most significant addition is a multi-function touch strip, which lets users change track position, pitch bend, apply effects and manipulate loops. Two new encoders, "browse" and "loop," provide shortcuts to their corresponding screens and modes. There are also new screens and LEDs for expanded visual feedback. NI hasn't set a release date just yet, but you can see the Kontrol X1 MK2 in action in the video below.
Native Instruments will release the Kontrol X1 MK2 at a suggested retail price of $229 / 199 Euro.
