- The German DJ will put out the inaugural compilation on his own AMA Recordings in July.
Ray Okpara has announced details of AMA Mixology Vol. 1, AMA Recordings' debut compilation.
Following last year's Good Times LP on Mobilee, Okpara has selected 12 tracks from AMA Recordings' back catalogue, presenting them in both mixed and unmixed formats. Exploring the imprint's dedication to house music, from deep and dubby to more jacking sounds, the compilation features Marko Nastic, Oslo chief Nekes and newcomer Enrico Peretti. Okpara himself appears twice: once solo, and once in collaboration with Costa-Rican duo Mobius Strum. Part German, part Nigerian, Okpara was at the forefront of the Mannheim house explosion of the mid-'00s, releasing on the likes of Oslo, Cecille and Drumpoet. In 2010, he set up AMA Recordings, showcasing music from Julien Bracht, Sek and DJ Romain.
