- Soma Records will release the Detroit dub adventurer's latest this September.
DeepChord will release a new album called 20 Electrostatic Soundfields in September on Soma Records.
It's the artist born Rod Modell's third album for Soma. Over the course of those records, Modell's focus has shifted from Detroit to Europe and particularly Amsterdam. His music has also grown more experimental and conceptual. That evolution is palpable on 20 Electrostatic Soundfields, which is full of quick "audio sculptures" taken from Modell's video soundtrack and installation music made between 2008 and 2012. In addition to the regular full-length release, Soma will issue a limited-edition picture disc (with Modell's own photography) featuring the piece "De Wallen." The album itself will appear as a limited CD/DVD package, in addition to standard CD and digital releases.
