  • PreSonus' Sceptre speaker line has just hit shops. First introduced at NAMM 2013, the Sceptre brings coaxial speaker design—prized for the way it reproduces sound, but complicated to implement and usually only available on very expensive systems—to a more modest price point. It achieves this both with its design and some creative digital processing running under the hood. (They call their technology behind this CoActual.) It comes in two sizes: the larger S8 model with an eight-inch low-mid-frequency driver, and the smaller S6 with a 6.5-inch driver. Both models come with a number of filtering options on the back panel to tune them to your room, along with XLR and quarter-inch connections. Sound On Sound got the scoop from PreSonus in January on the monitors, which you can check out in the video below.
The PreSonus Sceptre monitor line is now available for a suggested retail price per monitor of $749.95 for the S8 and $649.95 for the S6.
