  • Luke Slater has two stateside DJ bookings coming up next month. It will be a quick and relatively rare visit to the US for Slater, a seasoned UK techno purveyor with an expansive catalog that's home to aliases like Planetary Assault Systems (under which he's preparing a new EP for release on his own label Mote-Evolver), L.B. Dub Corp and The 7th Plain. First up is a night with The Bunker at Output in Brooklyn on Friday the 13th. Also confirmed for that one is Sweden's Abdulla Rashim, who's been turning heads over the past two years with tracks on his own eponymous imprint as well as labels like Prologue and Semantica—he'll be making his North American debut with a DJ set. Party favorite Deadbeat, playing live, is also billed along with resident Bryan Kasenic. Tickets are available here on RA. Slater will then travel to Chicago to play Smart Bar the following evening. Hosted by Oktave with support from Prosthetic Pressings, that gig will be his first in Chicago in over a decade. Rounding out the lineup are two locals, Oktave main man Jeff Derringer along with computer-music guru and live act Lokua.
