  • Crème Organization has revealed details of a retrospective series called Crème Classics. First up is a reissue of Raheem Hershel (AKA Legowelt's) rough-around-the-edges ghetto house record Gotta Have The Pokey, which will be re-released 10 years after it first came out on Crème. The Classics series will continue to dust off records from the label's sizeable discography, which spans electro, house, techno and Italo. "I figured that some of those old records really fit in well with today's sounds—especially the more housey ones—and there's a whole generation of kids that missed them first time round," Crème chief DJ TLR told RA. Founded in 2001, Crème was recently the focus of a label of the month feature on RA. You can listen to clips of all seven tracks from Gotta Have The Pokey over at the Crème SoundCloud page.
